Should have blogged this earlier, but forgot about it. A week+ ago, there was a WCG Safra League organised at Game Haven. I took part in Team Fortress 2 with my clan 5th Company (-V- Co.). There were about 6 teams taking part, 2EZ (RN+h2h), TFC (bat.), s7n, ocd and He-Man. This was a double elim format with 2 maps choices, 1st map is 1st to 3 wins or 20 mins, 2nd map is total score to 5 or whoever highest after 20mins.

1st day, we were unlucky to draw 2EZ as our first opponent, the only team we think which we would have difficulty. We played cp_badlands as the first map, with our standard roll out of :
Malice - Main Soldier
Sedated - Support Soldier
Fei101 - Medic
Cooty - Demo
Ace - Scout
Neth - Scout / Multiclass
It was a long and agressive on-going battle with both teams trying to cap each others point, which looked like a stale mate, after a lucky break my clan won the round leading 1-0, but 2EZ managed to cap back the next round making it 1-1 till end of map time.
2nd map was cp_granary, with us winning 3-0 with ease, as the team was disoriented. Thus 2EZ would have to play on the 2nd day in the loser bracket while we advance forward to meet s7n who had advanced with a walkover.

Against 2EZ, we played cp_granary as our choice of map with standard roll out. With easy steamrolls, we won 3-0 in a short time.
cp_well was their choice of map with me changing to Sniper on roll out. Had a few nice shots, and s7n was demoralised thus ending this bracket with ease.
That sums up the day and I headed off to Suntec KBOX with some of my friends for a surprised birthday party, singing all the way till 3.30am. Was so tired out, lucky our first match starts at 2pm.

2nd day, our first match would be against TFC (which is basically bat.), first map to be played was cp_well which was our choice. Today our main soldier couldn't make it so I had to take up the role of soldier, something which I never played in a scrim or match before (other than public games).
So our line up became,
Sedated - Main Soldier
Neth - Support Soldier
Fei101 - Medic
Cooty - Demo
Ace - Scout
Charlie - Scout
With Sedated changing roles to being the main, something which he is not used to, and I being the support. Our main attack force have weakened. Started off cp_well with a stagment game, till we lost eventually due to miscommunication, ending the game 1-0 advantage to TFC.
2nd map was cp_badlands, after 10mins of fighting, TFC won the round leading 1-0 in the map and 2-0 overall. With 10 mins left, we managed to be more aggresive and calling out and hitting our targets and managed to push back with 3 wins in 8mins. With us leading 3-2 in aggregate, TFC was desperate on the next roll out and became full aggresive in the middle cap. I managed to pull off 3 rocket kills stopping the cap, with the delay we won the match.

Finals was against 2EZ, the opening and closing match with the same teams. With us not losing a match in this double elim format, 2EZ has to win us twice to be crowned champions.
Map of choice were the same as the first map, cp_granary and cp_badlands.
Learning from their mistakes the day before, 2EZ managed to out damage us and won 2 rounds with ease, leading 2-0. We manage to make a comeback drawing it at 2-2 with time to spare. At the last few seconds of the first map, 2EZ managed to get our last cap thus giving them an advantage of 3-2.
In cp_badlands, we were outgun as well and ended up losing the map with out putting up much of a fight.

With one round down, the next match was a crucial match for both teams with the same maps for the rematch.
2EZ steamrolled our team with ease just like the previous match winning them 2 rounds. I called for a change of strat and changing where we would go, which proved effective as 2EZ didn't expect it and we managed to smasht them in the middle, capping back and winning the round. 2EZ tried to change their tactics again but we managed to get them again in the middle as they're not used to their new strats and bringing the score to 2-2. 2EZ played the last round cautiously, however, and were rewarded with the final point, taking cp_granary 3-2.
With a point down, we had to get 3 points before 2EZ got 2. I called for another change of standard strat, which proved effective and after long battles, we won 2 rounds, which brings us with a 4-3 lead. In the last round, I managed to sneak past the enemy, and pulled off a rocket kill on the unsuspecting team on their medic and scout, running through the back and took out another soldier. As compared to the previous 2 rounds, the momentum was lost for 2EZ and with major advantages we won the game 5-3 crowning us the champions.

We're now known as comeback kings after such results over the few games. Being seeded into the WCG TF2 Opens in July, awarded with cash prize of $300 for the team, $250 of spa vouchers per person, QCK mousepads and gaming vouchers.
